eternal sunshine

i don't know what i can write about the movie eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. it's absolutely brilliant. and it strikes a chord in me. more so than other films, every one will have a thoroughly unique experience with this movie as it confronts us with the sunshine and specter of relationships past.

"would you erase me?" asks one of the movie posters for this film.

no.

no, i wouldn't.

The memories we have are about the life we've lived so far, and not only are they a part of us, they make us. Erasing completely the remembrance of one's past is like killing off a part of yourself. While it's good to keep these in storage as reference points, don't let them affect you too adversely as you write your own future life.

(Kenneth, am I making sense?!)

yup, you do make sense. of course, i am acutely aware that memories are part of the interwoven fabric of our being. can't remove selectively and expect everything else to remain the same. well, i can't say i'm letting memories affect me too adversely.

yes i know! i just watched it Monday night at the Nova. it was brilliant!
